I accept Self-Pay and most major insurances.
Most health insurance companies cover nutritional counseling.
So in MOST instances you CAN use insurance for your nutrition visit.
But YOU need to call to verify and confirm you do in fact have benefits on your insurance policy for nutritional counseling BEFORE scheduling your appointment. (Details Here!)
This is often the case even if you don’t have an actual diagnosis but still want to come in for nutrition counseling for PREVENTION of a disease.
How do I check to see if your insurance policy will cover the visits? Start by calling the 800 number on the back of your insurance card and ask to speak with a representative.
The information on the Insurance Tab will walk you through the steps to take to see if your insurance will cover the cost of nutrition counseling for your visit.
Once again (not to sound like a broken record) YOU need to do this BEFORE scheduling your visit. I don’t like surprise bills and assume you don’t either (especially the, you-owe-money surprises).
What happens if you have an insurance company I do not participate with?
Option 1: You did the work to call your insurance company to verify and confirm benefits. AWESOME! I provide you with a Super Bill after payment (contracted insurance rates apply), you submit to your insurance company for reimbursement.
Option 2: Choose the Prompt-Pay Cash Rate. This is a discount rate offered to you, but you may not submit to your insurance as a Super Bill. Payment is due at the time of service. HSA/FSA cards and all major credit cards are accepted.
